Norwage Aug 29th 1862
Dear Parents
it is with
pleasure that I take my
pencil to write a few
words to let you know
how I get along I am
no verry well to day
I was took with the
diarroea this morning
but I hope this will
find you all well we
got our cloths a day or
to a go we start for
Washington next
Tuesday I would like to
have some of you come
down if you can I would
like to come home if I
could I have got to be
here when they pay
or I shall loose my pay
I sent 50 dollars ___
___ ____ Ingals the
other day I have got to go
on guard in about 10
minutes I have got
a pen and ink but
I am in a hurry
and have not got a
place to write so I take
my led pencil and
put my paper on my
knee I went down last
night to get my likeness
taken but it had got
so late I could not
They are a crying relief
so I must go you
must excuse the mistakes
and poor writing I send
my love to you all
come down if you can
I must go now Galutia
