a check of $10 I was took
with the measles and brought
to the hospital last Tuesday
I was sick 3 days before I
was taken to a hospital
Dave Loomis ___ Judson
Palmer Hinman and one
other fellow was
taken to the hospital out
of Co G the same day that
I was all with the measles
we have good care taken
of us plent to eat and
drink I suppose Dan and
Uncle Stephen has wrote
all of the news they told
me they had both written
to you about me that is one
reason that I did not answer
your letter before and another
reason was because I
was not well enough to write
but I will write just as often
as I can Pa what is the
reason that you dont write
any to me do you have so
much to do or what how
much did the old sow weigh
have you killed your beef if
did she weigh and how
much did you make on her
I want you to remember and
haing that peice up to dry

hops yet how much of your
wood have you drawn of how
mutch coal are you a burning I
should like to be there and help
you this winter help drink up
that barrell of cider any weigh
and eat some of the apples we
have to pay 3 cents a peice
for aples down hear and they
are pretty poor at that no dont
send me anything for mebby
I shall get them and mebby
should not or the socks them
you mite send and I dont know
but I should get the mittens it
is not cold enough to nead mittens
now but how cold it will be is
more than I know well I have
wrote about all that I feall well
enough to so I must close
write as soon as you get this
write all of the news dont be afraid
of writing to much this from your
most affectionate son Galutia York
There is one thing more
I forgot ma you wanted
to know if I use tobacco
no I dont use it in any
way whatever that was as
much news to me as it
was to you I should like
to know what put that in
her head I beleive she is
the biggest sap head I ever
saw I wonder how long it
takes her to write a letter to
dan it takes dan 3 or 4 days
to write to her I guess he
haint wrote one in less
than 3 days and there was
one that I know he was
over 8 days Henry Chesebro
is alive and enjoiing good health
he has not been shot yet as
I know of I than you
verry much for them
postage stamp you sent
me I got them all I have
