Janua 2d 1863
Dear Brother Adelbert
It is with much
pleasure that I once mor take
my pen in hand to answer your
letter which I received today. I
am well as usual and hope this
will find you the same. I have
been traveling all around today
I saw lots of little copperheads
do you want me to ketch one
for you there is a lot of she ones,
tell Irene that I can pick out
a mate to daniel around most
anywhere with his ass all out
to the weather haint you got the
morgan broke yet where does
pa tuck him out of the cold.
when you go to the singing school
again you must keep good watch
and learn all of the notes so
you can learn me when I get
home I suppose you had a good feast
out of the ___ rooster I would
like to have been there who was ther
New Year say foxey what little girl
do you love best that comes to
school this winter say do you ever
eat any of rozeys milk for me.
well I cant think of much more
to write this time so I must
close write soon but dont write
on an empty stomach this from
