September 30, 1862
Camp Belger Sept 30th 1862
Dear Father
Mother, Brothers and
Sisters it is with
great pleasure that I set
myself down to answer
your most welcomed letter
of the 15th which I received
yesterday I am well and enjoiing
good health and I hope
this will find you all
the same I had ___ give up
your writing I wrote a letter
on last Saturday and was
agoing to send it if I did
not get a letter from you
at noon but I got a
letter from Eugene and
he wrote that Irene
was better so I was not
in such a hurry David
is quite sick he has got the
disintary and it has run
him pretty hard the Hamilton
regiment got to Baltimore
yesterday morning I dont
know where it is agoing
what have you got the ___
___ tied up for yes the baggage
train got afire when we was
coming down here we have
all got our arms up
we have had them about
3 weeks I dont know how
much danger we was in
when we was acomeing down
hear but I had not heard
anything about that regiment
that you spoke about
so I dont think it was so
is ___ Main agoing to the
war. They are cutting this
regiment all to pieces for
guard there was one whole
company started of this
morning to guard a place
and 45 mor just now started
for Yorktown there was
one company went last
week and on hundread
men a weak before last
Capt Tucker says
that there wont none of
his company go untill he
is able to go with them
he is gaining ___ have
you got the picture of our camp
ground that I sent you if you
have you will see the
tent that I stay in on the left
hand sid as I go up from the ___
______ as we go through that
space between Co G tent it
is the fourth from the top
as you count down there is 2
dots on it that I made with
a led pencil I would like to
see it in a fraim and hanging
up in one corner when I come
home how long did Uncle John
stay I wrote a letter to him the
other day I got a letter from
Sidney last Friday I have wrote
about all that I can think of
so I must close you
must write some for it seems
as if I had most got home while I am
reading your letters this from
Galutia York to Zebulon York

___ your ___ and all you are a mind to send
and I send you all mine in return
