Congressman Daniel Stevens Dickinson. Born Sept. 11, 1800 in Goshen, CT; family moved to Guilford, Chenango Co. in 1806; studied law in Norwich; postamster of Guilford; moved to Binghamton in 1831; NYS Senate leader 1837-41; supported Union ticket in 1861; reluctant Lincoln supporter at Union convention in 1864; Federal D.A. for Southern District of NY from 1865; died April 12, 1866.

Colonel Walton Dwight, 149th Penn. Vol. Born in 1837 in Windsor in Broome County, NY; had prewar Binghamton lumber business; helped raise the 149th PA "Bucktails;" WIA, resigned and returned to Binghamton; elected mayor of Binghamton in 1871; went west when his hotel failed but returned to Binghamton in 1878; died that year.

Brevet Brigadier General Henry Martyn Whittelsey. Born in 1821 in Hartford, CT; attended Yale Law School; QM for Michigan State troops; Captain AQM on staff of Brig. Gen. Alpheus S. Williams; Captain and acting Chief QM for XX Corps; Colonel and Chief QM for Army of Georgia; City Comptroller of Washington, D.C., 1870-71; died Aug. 8, 1873 in Washington, DC; buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Owego, NY (sec. 12, lot 23).

Captain Seymour L. Judd, Co. G, 89th NYSV. Joined Sept. 1861 as Captain, age 37; discharged Sept. 1862 but re-enrolled Nov. 1862; WIA June 16, 1864 at Petersburg; died Aug. 27, 1864.

Private Moses LaGrange, Co. I, 50th NY Engineers. A Broome County history says he was born there in 1840; a farmer, Mason, and a "staunch Republican;" was alive in 1924.

Captain Oliver H. Millham, Co. E, 109th NYSV. Joined at Binghamton Aug. 1862 as a Private in Co. E and rose to Captain by Feb. 1865; discharged with unit in June 1865.
# 662 - Chenango Forks - Chartered July 21, 1892
Hospital Chaplain Isaac M. Ely, U.S. Volunteers. Served July 1864 through Nov. 1865.
# 668 - Binghamton - Chartered Feb. 16, 1893
Brigadier General Joseph Jackson Bartlett. Born in 1834 in Binghamton; was a lawyer there when the war started; raised a company in the 27th NYSV; promoted to Colonel Sept. 1861; appointed Brigadier General in Oct. 1862; took part in every major Army of the Potomac action (except Second Bull Run); received surrendered weapons at Appomattox; brevet Major General; died 1893; buried at Arlington National Cemetery. (This Post changed to #108 on Feb. 20, 1893.)
