Dear Sister
I am now seated to write a few
lines to you to let you know that
I am still alive and enjoying the
pleasures of a soldiers life
I expect to be on my way home in a
few days I think we will be in
Syracuse about the 20th of the
month I wish that you would
see that the linen coat that I
sent home from Washington is done
up so that I can wear it and
if I have any shirts
that is fit to wear heave them
ready if you please tell father
to keep a lookout for a good
horse that I can buy when
I get home for I will want
one as soon as I get home
I will close for the present
hoping to meet you all soon
from your Brother
