     Dear friends   I
reseved your leter last
night and was verry glad
to hear from you   I am wel
and hope that this wil find
you the same   I have ben on
gard last night and do not
have to dril to day   the regiment
is in very good helth   Ben               Ben Rudolph from
got better the next day   he has          Smithville?
ben our cook some of the time
wee have betor bord than when
to norwich   wee have no rain
hear   one night it raind
all night but I was not 
on gard   thare is not mouch exsiting
down here about the war   wee
have the news every day   they
think that they have got old

has ben on the ground   I
was glad to see him   he
was hear after horses
one of the rebel generals
has cald for peas but
wee ar going to rush them
this and then we are coming
home   it is not very
warm down hear   I have not
heard or sean a bird since I

this is the ground of the
old reveolution   it is
the best of grounds so

are going in to Harisburg

in about an hour   wee heard
that thay was in Baltamore
but wee had no truble coming

how long wee shal stay
hear   thare is about 15000
thousand soulders around
Baltimore under General

lodid in the fort for
them   let them come
and if wee cant hold this

thare is some rebels in town
priseners   cant think of iney
