		<description><![CDATA[<p>The Morrisville State College Library is proud to show the works of Lynette K Stephenson, an Associate Professor of Studio Art at Colgate University in Hamilton.&nbsp; The exhibition, titled <em>The Red Cross Series,</em> features paintings &ldquo;inspired by uncontrollable tragedies that are an aspect of the uncertainty of life.&rdquo;&nbsp; The show will be up from February 27, 2013 through April 7th.</p><p><strong>A reception for the artist will be held on Thursday March 21st from 4-5:30 in the Butcher Library Gallery.</strong></p>]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>Come to the library to see the fantastic celebration of the 85th Academy Awards!&nbsp; The shelves are star-studded with a display of the past winners of Best Picture going all the way back to the first in 1928 when the movie Wings starring Clara Bow took home the Oscar.</p><p>Who will win this year?&nbsp; The Library is having a contest to see who can guess the winners in all the Academy Awards categories.&nbsp; The person with the most right answers wins!&nbsp; Ballots can be cast either in the Library on paper or vote online <strong><a title="MSC Library 2013 Oscar Vote" href="https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1arG4LO8L2WLz6z8Ba0KL5e3HlD_JVWT8nQzSkgpJNSM/viewform" target="_blank">HERE</a></strong>!</p><p>You MUST submit your ballot BEFORE  the Awards start in order to be  eligible, and we will only count your  first submission. 		<title>MLK Day Event: The Living Library</title>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>**The Library will be open from 8:30am - 4:30pm for MLK Day.**</p><p>What are YOU doing to talk about diversity on MLK day?&nbsp; Why not come to the library to participate in the <strong>Living Library</strong>.</p><p>When: Monday, January 21 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.</p><p>Where: MSC Library, 1st Floor Reading Area</p><p>What: Readers (members of the campus community) can come to the Living Library to check out a living book: a person who has faced discrimination or stereotyping. Readers can then have a conversation with this living book to hear more about their story, and to have a better understanding about where they are coming from, and dispel the stereotypes.</p><p>The Library would like to thank the MLK Committee for the grant to help support the event.&nbsp; The Library is an official member of the international <a title="Human Library Organization" href="http://humanlibrary.org/" target="_blank">Human Library organization</a>.&nbsp; Through its members, these Living Libraries take place all over the world.</p>]]></description>

		<title>Lee Brown Coye Exhibit &amp; Reception</title>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>Held annually around Halloween, the library is proud to present the Lee Brown Coye Exhibit. Enjoy the macabre collection of Coye's paintings, drawings, and other media on display through November 5th on the first floor of the library. The collection is curated by collector and friend of the artist Chuck Westfall.  Coye (1907-1981) was a self-taught artist from Central New York whose artwork has received national and international recognition.</p><p>Reception will be held Wednesday, October 20th from 4-6pm on the library's first floor.</p><ul><li><a href="http://library.morrisville.edu/coye.aspx">View the Coye Collection</a></li></ul>]]></description>
