The Donald G. Butcher Library is centrally located on the Morrisville State College
campus, near residence halls and academic buildings. Its collections include
over 95,000 books, 250 magazine and newspaper subscriptions, 1,600 audio and
videocassettes, and a growing number of electronic full-text books and databases.
Audio-visual facilities are available, as well as meeting rooms, study carrels, and a laptop lounge. The Library building has been fully
adapted for wireless computer use. The Library also offers Talk to the Librarian via AOL INstant Messenger or via the built in IM on each library webpage.
The Library is open 88 hours each week when classes are in session, providing a full range of traditional services including reference, interlibrary loan, and research methods instruction. Computer stations in the Library lobby provide access to all the Library's information resources, including the catalog to the Library's physical collections, and to the Internet. Remote computer access to all the information resources listed on the Library's web page is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Through both traditional and contemporary services the Library seeks to
enrich and enhance the academic experience of Morrisville State College students,
supporting the mission of the College to provide quality post-secondary
education to all who can benefit. The Library is committed to preparing
all Morrisville State College graduates to be information-literate lifelong learners.
